Skepticism and denial took over. Had Father Simon become one of those nut jobs claiming the end of the world was near?

He continued to explain calmly:

As you know, our Lord and Savior told his disciples that he would return to bring Judgement and Salvation. However, before the Second Coming, humanity will face suffering and hardships:

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

(Mathew 24:21,22)

The persecution of Christians is just a fragment of God’s final test for each of us:

“At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other;”

(Matthew 24:10)

And only the “elect” who survive and do not fall prey to sin will be granted Salvation:

“But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

(Matthew 24:13)

Do you now understand why I asked you if you believe in God’s plan and the Bible?

I nodded.

But I still felt I needed more answers. My family’s safety was at stake.

According to Matthew’s account, several events must happen before that moment. They will serve as a warning for Christians to prepare:

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, and there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places. All these are the Beginning of Sorrows.”

(Matthew 24:7,8)

There have been many wars, plagues, and famines throughout history. But this is the first time they match the exact descriptions left for us as warnings in the Bible.

The Book of Revelation, written by John the Apostle, describes the events before the Second Coming and the Last Judgment.

This is what the Bible says:

I. PLAGUE

“I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.” (Revelation 6:2)

The sacred verses of Revelation 6:2 hold a profound message that resonates with the trials we faced in these troubled times.

A striking sight materializes: a white stallion, carrying a rider adorned with a crown, armed with a bow, and charging forth with an unwavering determination to conquer.

The recent pandemic holds a peculiar connection, for the very term "corona" derives from the Latin word for crown. A plague (or virus as we know then today) that has a crown, a coronavirus or COVID-19 to be more exact.

Furthermore, the crown has been given, and it’s not inherently owned by the rider. Remember the theories of laboratory origin that news sources like CNN as well as government agencies attempted to suppress?

Today, we know that the crown-like spikes of this virus were scientifically altered with one purpose: to easily spread to humans. We played God with nature, we provided the rider with his crown, and we were punished.

The color white aligns with the protective attire used by scientists laboring within bio-research facilities.

Even though the Apostle John may not have comprehended the intricacies of viral research or bio-laboratories, he was well aware of plagues and diseases and their devastating consequences.

The bow serves as an indicator of the moment this plague was unleashed. We know now that the initial instances of human infection occurred between late November and mid-December 2019, coinciding with the astrological sign of Sagittarius, the hunter with his bow.

As the virus escaped containment, it rode out as a conqueror, bent on conquest. Country after country fell under its unrelenting invasion, without the clash of weapons or the fury of war.

As the pandemic surged, churches were forced to close their doors all over the globe. Such dire circumstances had never before beset the Christian world and were a powerful omen of the Beginning of Sorrows.

But despite the lockdowns and severe quarantine measures, most of us have encountered this virus. The effects ranged from mild afflictions and periods of isolation to more severe symptoms and even hospitalization. It saddens me to acknowledge the staggering loss of six million lives. But regardless of our diverse viewpoints and personal experience with the pandemic, one undeniable fact remains: this was the first truly global event that unfolded after Jerusalem was recognized as the capital of Israel.

With this timeline established, I humbly ask you to continue our journey of exploration and open your minds and hearts to the broader narrative that unfolds within the sacred verses of Revelation 6. As we delve deeper into the words penned by John, we discover the depiction of three additional riders. Please give a few moments to talk about the second rider. I believe this revelation should surely dispel any lingering skepticism about the fulfillment of Revelation 6.

II. WAR

“Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given the power to take peace from the Earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword” (Revelation 6:4)

This second Horseman representing war, conflict, and violence made his grim appearance on February 24^th, 2022, when Vladimir Putin launched his invasion into Ukraine. From that day forward, it seems peace has been taken from our Earth.

Mere moments after the attack, we saw the globe divided in two, clear as day. On one side, NATO and our allies stand firm on the side of Ukraine.

Yet, let's not be led astray by dishonest TV pundits. If Russia truly was alone, it would have collapsed by now in this bloody geopolitical chess game. It is in alliance with China, forming a formidable bloc known as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

It's an entity that covers an astonishing 40% of the world population.

Now, let's delve into the symbolism. The red color of the horse could be interpreted to symbolize Russia's military force, aptly named the Red Army. Intriguingly, China, Russia's stalwart ally, is associated with the same crimson color through its national flag. This color could also symbolize the blood that is being split all around the globe after years of relative peace devoid of major conflicts.

What of the great sword the Horseman wields, you may ask? Let's look at the facts. Russia possesses the most extensive nuclear arsenal and the most advanced hyper-sonic nuclear-capable missiles on our planet. It's the looming dread of nuclear confrontation that has, thus far, stayed NATO's hand from direct intervention. Meanwhile, with the global spotlight fixated on Ukraine, other conflicts and riots have erupted in Israel, Iran, Pakistan, Sudan, Armenia, and various other corners of the world.

These conflicts are making people kill each other all over the globe, mirroring the somber warnings inscribed in the Bible. Unfortunately, more suffering is heading our way as the events happening right now are laying the ground for the arrival of the 3rd horseman.

III. FAMINE

"I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!" (Revelation 6:6)

I have found that few passages in the Holy Scriptures are as striking and profound as Revelation 6. It speaks of the third Horseman, the harbinger of a devastating global famine following the widespread destruction sown by the second rider on his crimson steed.

The color black might be open to interpretation as this event has not happened yet, but the symbolism of the scales is clearer. They portend the advent of a famine so dreadful, so all-encompassing, that it surpasses any calamity we've witnessed before. We're talking about a world where every single grain of wheat and barley is counted, measured, and rationed.

Even those fortunate enough to have a job will not escape the consequence, for a day's wage will only buy a meager amount of food. Imagine, if you will, working to earn just enough to purchase a scanty portion of food, barely enough to sustain a single person for one day. Thus, the scales could be indicative of a time of severe rationing.

Indeed, there are alarming signs already that we may be inching closer to a significant food crisis. Food prices are escalating with unnerving speed. The grocery store shelves, once brimming, are now noticeably less stocked.

The reasons behind this are complex but one contributing factor is that Russia and Ukraine together supply a substantial portion of the world's food including wheat, barley, and sunflower oil.

But there's another, perhaps even more worrying development: Russia, China, and Belarus together provide a staggering 30% of the world's fertilizer. And in these turbulent times, the price of fertilizer has skyrocketed, threatening global food production.

According to Svein Tore Holsether, head of agricultural company Yara International “Half the world’s population gets food as a result of fertilizers… and if that’s removed from the field for some crops, the yield will drop by 50%”. Half of the world's food, gone! Keep that in mind as we approach the next harvest. “For me, it’s not whether we are moving into a global food crisis - it’s how large the crisis will be". “Just when you think hell on earth can’t get any worse, it does”. An accidental but terribly accurate choice of words for the things to come...

IV. DEATH

“I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.” (Revelation 6:8)

Here, there is no room for metaphors. The last rider is simply named Death. That’s because the COVID pandemic (Plague), the Ukrainian invasion (War), and the looming worldwide food shortage (Famine) - as mere precursors to what the Scriptures warn us about. Revelation 6:8 is explicit: it is with the arrival of the 'pale horseman' that a quarter of humanity is prophesied to perish.

Following closely in his dreadful wake is Hades, the Greek deity of the underworld. This, in essence, represents a literal hell on Earth.

At this point, the precise event or phenomenon that the pale horseman represents remains unclear to me. However, there is much to be said about the 'wild beasts' mentioned in Revelation 6:8. In the Bible, the term 'beast' is used to denote animals, the devil himself, or individuals who commit heinous deeds. In the context of Revelation 6:8, it refers to humans who are culpable of egregious crimes.

For instance, Vladimir Putin could be perceived as one of the most formidable 'wild beasts' currently roaming our Earth. And he is not alone. Consider those responsible for creating COVID, or those manipulating shortages for their personal profit. Beyond these, the term 'beasts' in Scriptures also extends to include rapists, murderers, thieves, and looters. Revelation 6:8 suggests that these 'wild beasts' of the Earth will ravage our world. As you might have noticed, instances of crime and violence have surged since the onset of COVID.

Now, envision a world where supply chains have collapsed, where people are unable to find or afford food, water, or shelter, where power outages span days. This scenario would inevitably lead to a total breakdown of law and order. Desperation will morph people into 'wild beasts.' We are already witnessing substantial social unrest in various parts of the world. As modern society teeters on the brink, malnutrition and a dearth of medical supplies could cause an untold number of fatalities.

Plagues, War, Famine, Violence, and Death are looming on the horizon. All of us will be put to the test. You will be tested. In these impending dark times, will you stand as a beacon of light, or will you devolve into one of the 'wild beasts' of the Earth?

According to Peter all those who listen to these words, believe and take the right action will be saved:

Therefore prepare your mind for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
(Peter 1:13)

The message couldn't be any clearer... Only those who believe the words of our Lord will be granted salvation. And as I saw this prophecy come true, I knew I had to do everything to protect the ones I love and survive the coming tribulations.
